We work closely with local schools to prepare students to settle easily into the New Zealand classroom situation and adapt to a method of study that may be new to them. We have found that our students achieve good results because they have gained confidence in a more sheltered environment. We have pathway agreements with leading universities, polytechnics and private tertiary institutions, as well as schools ranging from primary to high school. Whether you are aiming for an MBA or want to learn to be a bee-keeper, we will provide you with advice and support to achieve your study goals.
We fully prepare students for study at tertiary level in New Zealand. For academic preparation we recommend a minimum of 12 weeks’ study. However, the length of study depends on students’ entry level and we have found that most students need at least 24 weeks to prepare themselves adequately.
Students will study the structure and functions of English language, in preparation for the Listening, Reading, Academic Writing and Speaking tests. Tests will be given at regular intervals so that students can measure their progress on the IELTS scale. New Zealand orientation will also be included in the course.
Graduates of Mount Maunganui Language Centre have gone on to successfully study at Auckland Institute of Studies, Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, Auckland University, AUT, Otago University, and Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand.
We work closely with students, agents, parents and the chosen school to ensure that the best study options are chosen for the student. Our preferred high school partner school is Mount Maunganui College. Visit their website at www.mmc.school.nz. We can also arrange placements at any high school in New Zealand on request.
We have courses for elementary, lower-intermediate, intermediate and upper level students.
